Simplification efforts are welcome, but many of today’s challenges stem from fragmented implementation and inconsistent enforcement across Member States rather than shortcomings in the legislation itself.
A more harmonised approach would reduce legal uncertainty, facilitate cross-border operations, strengthen compliance, and allow regulators to focus resources where they have the greatest impact.
