Digital Fairness Act CPC Review

Consumer Protection

As the European Commission develops the Digital Fairness Act and reviews the Consumer Protection Cooperation framework, DOT Europe advocates for a coherent, future-proof approach that builds on the strong protections already established under existing EU legislation.

Rather than creating overlapping obligations, future reforms should improve consistency across the EU’s digital rulebook, close genuine regulatory gaps where evidence demonstrates they exist, and provide businesses with the legal certainty needed to continue delivering innovative services for European consumers.

Current Focus Of Consumer Protection

  • Digital Fairness Act

Engaging on the DMA’s implementation to support fair, contestable digital markets while keeping the rules clear and predictable for the businesses they govern.

  • CPC Review

Supporting modern, harmonised consumer-protection rules that build trust online without creating disproportionate or duplicative burdens.
